Parents’ Association Virtual 5K
Many thanks to everyone who supported our Parents’ Association Virtual 5k in June. Half of the proceeds raised were donated to the Donegal Hospice. Pictured is Annie Condron, Treasurer of the Parents’ Association, presenting the cheque to a representative of the Hospice.
Message from Mr Luke Kilcoyne – 29th July 2020
Dear Parent/s, Guardian/s and Pupils,
I hope each and every one of you is enjoying the summer holidays free of school work and that you are making the most of the Irish weather!
As you are no doubt already aware, the Government has made its intention clear that a “full, safe and sustainable” reopening of schools is its primary objective. It has also published detailed guidance for schools and we expect further guidance from the Government in the coming weeks.
The Minister for Education has also written to all parents. Her letter can be read by clicking the link below titled ‘Minister’s Letter to parents 27.07.20’:
Minister’s letter to parents 27.07.2020
Work in preparation for the safe reopening of our school for all staff and all pupils on a full time basis has been ongoing during July and will continue throughout August. The school will have a detailed Covid Response plan in place for staff, pupils and parents by mid-August in line with Government guidelines. It will be communicated to you at least 2 weeks in advance of our scheduled reopening date of Tuesday, 1st September. It will contain all you need to know about how school will operate when we reopen and all the measures we will put in place to keep staff and pupils safe and well in school. The plan will ensure that all staff and pupils can return to school on a full time basis.
I will be in touch again in a few weeks. In the meantime, if you have questions or concerns please email me at illistrinoffice@gmail.com
Kind regards,
Mr Luke Kilcoyne,
Principal Teacher.
