Rounders
Scoil Naomh Fiachra has been involved in the Cumann na mBunscoile Rounders competition for over 5 years now. In the past we have played teams including Kilmacrennan N.S, Scoil Colmcille, Letterkenny and Scoil Mhuire Gan Smal, Letterkenny. We generally commence our training during the month of March with Ms. Mahoney and Mrs. McMenamin taking children from 5th and 6th class out for training. Rounders is a wonderful sport and is very inclusive. Most children at some point have enjoyed a game of rounders between friends or in the P.E. Class. The fun really begins when we start to discuss the rules! As everybody who plays Rounders has their own set. We look forward to the official rounders season ahead. We have friendly matches arranged between the boy’s school in Letterkenny and Kilmacrennan N.S. We hope this year to arrange more friendly matches with more local schools. This will help us get to know more children before we make the transition into secondary school.
