Lá Fhéile Bhríde
February 1st marked the first day of spring, known as Lá Fhéile Bhríde, Saint Brigid’s Feast Day. Mr C. Gallagher’s 5th class and Ms McClafferty’s 1st class celebrated St Brigids day by inviting their grandparents in to make St. Brigid’s day crosses. Fr. Gillespie then blessed the crosses. There was a lovely atmosphere in the hall. Well done to everybody involved.
Service of Light
The Ceremony of Light was celebrated on Thursday 25th January in the school. The key part of the service was when the parents hand the lighted Baptism candle to their child as an acknowledgement that their child is now ready to be a responsible Christian. It was a very special evening for all the students, parents and teachers involved. They now look forward to their Sacrament of Confirmation on Thursday 22nd of February 2018.

Seasonal Influenza Advice for Parents
- Teach your children to cover their mouth and nose with a paper tissue when coughing or sneezing.
- If no tissue is available they should cough or sneeze into the inside of their elbow. Be sure to set a good example by doing this yourself.
- Teach your children to use a tissue only once and dispose of it quickly and carefully (a dustbin is fine).
- Teach your children to wash their hands frequently with soap and water.
